FROM DUAL STUDENT TO DIVISION MANAGER

A CAREER PATH WITH PROSPECTS

When Luca Hafermann began his dual study program at Nagel-Group in 2022, it was not yet foreseeable that he would take on a management position just three years later. Today, he is Head of Business Services at the Gotha site. A step that shows the development opportunities that can open up with commitment and passion.

After graduating from high school, Luca made a conscious decision to do a federal voluntary service in order to gain orientation and take on responsibility. He quickly realized that he wanted to study, but with direct practical relevance. The dual study program in logistics offered exactly this combination. With the desire to remain rooted in the region, he decided on Nagel-Group.

During his studies, Luca got to know numerous areas of the company: From the invoicing department to scheduling and quality management through to customer service, he gained insights into the company's central processes and interfaces. The close integration of theory and practice was particularly formative. In each practical phase, he worked on specific projects, analyzed existing processes and developed suggestions for improvement that were applied directly in everyday work. However, his time in customer service had the greatest impact on him. He learned how important communication, organization and process understanding are in daily interaction with customers.

For the first time, the exchange with the training manager dealt specifically with prospects after graduation. It was clear to Luca that he wanted to take on responsibility and play an active role in shaping the location. With the expansion of the Gotha/Emleben site, the opportunity finally arose for him to take over as Head of Business Services directly after graduation.

He prepared himself specifically for this role. He deepened his understanding of processes in relevant departments, completed training in the area of employee management and, at the same time, combined theory and practice in his bachelor's thesis on the optimization of delivery and damage processes for a major customer. A project that exemplifies how practical the dual study program is at Nagel-Group.

Luca Hafermann took up his new position on October 1, 2025. Today, he is faced with the task of taking on a central role, leading teams and further developing processes, knowing that every step of his journey so far has prepared him for precisely this role.

His example shows: Anyone who combines commitment, willingness to learn and responsibility can take on responsibility at Nagel-Group at an early stage and actively shape the future.
